Somedays I wonder

Somedays, I take pause
and wonder inside,
“How come this beauty
stands here at my side?”

I lean in to kiss
your succulent lips
and to throw my arms
around your soft hips.

I look in your eyes
and see the bright light
as you try so hard
to live each day right.

I hope you know that
you make me happy,
even when broke toes
make me feel crappy.

I’m still not sure why
God gave you to me,
but if you were gone,
life would cease to be.
