I have heard of ring
around the collar
and I’ve heard the phone
ring of a caller.
Never before though,
of the ring of skin,
a circular bit
which peels very thin.
It does not hurt much,
in fact there’s no pain.
There are still layers
of skin that remain.
I suppose its just
a token you get
to say “You’re married;
now don’t you forget.”
