We’re prepping our home
slowly but surely,
as we eagerly
await our baby.
It’s an odd feeling
preparing a home,
akin to writing
our very own tome.
We get to decide
what stays and what goes,
as for our reasons,
well, nobody knows.
Some are logical
and others are not;
Some I remember
and some I forgot.
The reasons are not
all that impressive;
Many are just us
being possessive.
As we seek our goal
to prep for the kid,
we’ll look back
