I did not mean it,
although by mistake,
a walking monster
I did help to make.
I put up a leg
to help TJ walk.
I used not my hands,
but rather pep talk.
I encouraged him
to venture on out
and to use my leg
to help him about.
He swayed from the couch
o’er to the table,
proving his lil legs
are very able.
I told him, “Good job!
You did it yourself!”
He took that to heart
in his inner self.
For next thing we knew,
he thought he was king
of the whole I-can-
walk-by-myself thing.
He would let out his
cute frustrated yelp,
whenever we tried
to give him some help.
I must remember
that the words I pick
from now on need to
be more specific.
