It’s been quite awhile
since hot links were bought;
What we once ate oft’
were somehow forgot.
It’s not as if we
developed a hate,
for the spicy link
that tastes oh so great.
No, I think, perhaps
that our love affair
with the hot sausage
was too much to bear.
We needed time off
to think and ponder,
because absence makes
the heart grow fonder.
