When we arrived here,
I was quickly told:
“Summer nights here are
very hot, not cold.”
For most of my life,
I’ve lived in a place
where that sickly fact
was sadly the case.
But back in the past,
I did not have kids.
I could just stay home
and then watch some vids.
But my boys need run
and play in the park,
they need to do so
right as it gets dark.
So far, so good though
with just one bad night.
As summer comes on,
I’ll fight the good fight.
